Message from the Chief Nursing Executive

I am excited about nursing at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System. With our newly designated ANCC Magnet Recognition at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital - Tyler, CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital and CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic as well as our journey to nursing excellence with our other Health system hospitals, there is no better time to be a nurse with our health system.

CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System is committed to the evidence-base care and treatment of our patients, we invest in the newest technology, often chosen by our nursing staff. Our nurses are full partners with our physicians and other staff to provide the highest quality care. We demonstrate that with our system wide monthly RN/MD Grand Rounds, where our nurses and physicians partner together to present our most innovative patient care delivery exemplars.

We offer a wide range of clinical areas and settings in which our nurses can practice. With input from nursing, our nurse friendly transfer policy ensures our nurses can be successful in any of our practice settings. In addition to your career growth we are committed to your academic professional growth as well. CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System has partnerships with multiple academic institutions and universities that offer discount tuition rates, in addition we offer tuition reimbursement and promote certification in your specialty area.

Nursing at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System continues to grow and expand. Our nurses are a vital presence in every setting, whether in our acute care setting, ambulatory or post-acute care.  Nurses play a pivotal role in providing high quality care that our Northeast Texas communities have come to expect.

DAISY Program

daisy award graphicThe DAISY Award is a nationwide program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care delivered by nurses every day. CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System is proud to be a DAISY Award Hospital Partner since 2011, recognizing one of our nurses with this special honor throughout the year. 

DAISY Award honorees personify the mission of CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances enhance community health through service with compassion, excellence and efficiency. These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care, and they are recognized as outstanding role models in our nursing community.

The acronym “DAISY” stands for “Diseases Attacking the Immune System”. The foundation was formed in November, 1999, by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). The nursing care Patrick received when hospitalized profoundly touched his family and they wanted to do something to thank the nurses who cared for him.
