How long do I expect my surgery to take?

The length of surgery depends on the complexity of the procedure. It can average from thirty minutes to twelve hours.

How long will I have to stay in the hospital?

The average stay in the hospital for brain surgery varies between two days to over a week.

How long until I can return to work?

Most patients who have brain surgery may return to work in one month. This will vary depending on the type and severity of the procedure performed.

What restrictions will I have?

The patient may not drive until released by the surgeon, approximately six weeks after surgery. No strenuous activities or contact sports for four to six weeks.

Will my head be shaved?

Only a minimal amount of hair will be removed from the area around the incision site for the surgery.
