Cardiovascular Associates of East Texas and the Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital Open Gun Barrel City Clinic

GUN BARREL CITY, TX – Residents of Henderson County will soon have improved access to the highest levels of cardiac care available in the region when the new clinic from Cardiovascular Associates of East Texas (CAET) in affiliation with the Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital (LPOHH) launches with an Open House on Aug. 18, at their new clinic at 126 West Main, Suite C.

The Open House will offer residents of the area a chance to meet some of the talented and caring cardiology team that will be offering weekly consultations at the new clinic. Scott Wright, MD, FACC; Richard Lowry, MD, FACC; and CAET founding partner, Noah Israel, MD, FACC, will divide their time and services among patients on a rotating basis every Tuesday.

“By partnering with Cardiovascular Associates of East Texas, Trinity Mother Frances and the Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital are demonstrating our continual commitment to provide East Texas with the very highest levels of care,” said Dr. Steve Keuer, President and Chief Medical Officer, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. “We take great pride in the quality of care we provide, and we are confident this affiliation will improve upon both organizations’ already high standards.”

Drs. Wright, Lowry and Israel bring with them decades of combined experience practicing on the leading edge of cardiology throughout the East Texas region. They have served patients in Tyler, as well as in clinics located in Athens, Pittsburgh and beyond.

“By combining the efforts and skills of these two excellent organizations, patients throughout the East Texas region will have improved access to the highest levels of cardiac care available,” said Ray Thompson, FACHE, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. “We will be bringing specialists to clinics throughout the region on a regular basis, offering patients access they’ve never had before.”

“We are bringing together two groups with a lot of compassion, knowledge and skills that we are able to give to our patients,” said Dr. Noah Israel, founding partner of CAET. “I look at this as putting together a dream team. You have the skills, compassion and long-term experience of two groups offering the care the patients need, with state-of-the-art technology.”

While the clinic will begin operation on Aug. 19, offering consultations, there are plans in place to expand in the future. Hours of operation, number of physicians and the variety and volume of services offered are slated to develop in the coming months. Patients will receive imaging services provided by Mother Frances Hospital. Additionally, CAET patients will benefit from a streamlined process for admitting and services from Trinity Mother Frances Hospital when needed, partially through the implementation and coordination of the TMFHC electronic health record, ConnectCARE.

“We are very much looking forward to offering cardiac care to patients in Gun Barrel City,” said Dr. Lowry. “There are many people throughout the East Texas area who simply do not have convenient access to the advanced care, equipment and expertise that we will be offering, and there is a significant need there.”

“Our goal with the opening of this clinic, and with this affiliation between the two organizations, is expand access,” agreed Dr. Wright. “Access is a buzzword in healthcare right now, but the underlying concept is vital to our mission: we seek to bring the very best treatment to the patients who need it. We want to meet the patients’ needs where they are.”
