Proceeds Benefit Women’s Services / New Women’s Unit Announced

TYLER, TX – Tonight at the Villa de Felicita, the Trinity Mother Frances Foundation Women’s Board held the annual Pearls and Promises Gala, this year named Diamonds, Pearls and Promises in honor of TMF’s 75th anniversary. The fundraiser focuses on expanding women’s services provided through Trinity Mother Frances. Over 300 attended and were on hand when Health System officials announced a new campaign to raise funding to build a comprehensive Women’s Center on the campus of Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler. The new state-of-the-art women’s health unit will be named A Woman’s Place: For Healing. For Health.

For 75 years, Trinity Mother Frances has been taking care of women, providing them a place of comfort, healing, encouragement and outstanding medical care. Generations of East Texans have been born and nurtured at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Mother Frances Hospital is also dedicated to post-surgical care for a variety of conditions, including Postpartum, C-section recovery, Women’s Urology, Women’s Plastics and Reconstruction following breast cancer surgery. However, Health System officials pointed out that the rooms in the hospital serving these women need major improvements to provide modern amenities and comforts to patients and their families. The older areas of the hospital were built in 1962 and last remodeled in 1986.

Mother Frances Hospital has earned national recognition for a high standard of quality care as a 100 Top Hospital. Officials said the upgrade of facilities will bring the “top 100” patient experience to a new level by providing the best possible environment for healing and recovery.

“We are excited to announce a capital campaign to create a new, state-of-the-art Women’s Health Unit,” said Lindsey Bradley, FACHE, President, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. “With the support of generous donors, we plan to renovate the fifth floor of the Dawson tower area of Mother Frances Hospital, opening 27 spacious new private rooms equipped to care for a wide spectrum of women’s services. We encourage everyone to consider a generous donation to support this important project for the health of women in East Texas.”

Each room will offer the amenities available in the Ornelas Tower at Mother Frances, beautifully decorated and equipped to care for a wide spectrum of women’s services, including:
• Postpartum
• C-section recovery
• Women’s Urology
• Women’s Plastics/Reconstruction

“Trinity Mother Frances is deeply committed to providing care to women at all stages of life, regardless of their economic status or ability to pay. Each gift will ensure that we can offer a place for women to heal and return to health at Mother Frances Hospital that matches the quality, compassion and the excellence of the care we provide,” said Steven P. Keuer, MD, President and Chief Medical Officer, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics.
