In 1937, far-sighted community leaders saw the need for improved healthcare in East Texas and joined with the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth to create Tyler’s first and only hospital. Doors opened a day early on March 18, 1937 to treat hundreds of seriously wounded teachers and children after an explosion rocked New London School about 25 miles southeast of Tyler.
Since then, families in east Texas have found a refuge for healing and hope in the caring hands of trusted Trinity Mother Frances providers.
Serving east Texas for 75 years, Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler is a 404-bed acute care facility located in the heart of Tyler, Texas, offering a complete range of services including trauma care and emergency medical services, routine and specialized medical and surgical care, Tyler’s ONLY neonatal intensive care unit, maternal and child care, advanced neurological, orthopedic, cardiac care and more.
