Endowment/Planned Giving

The Legacy Society

“It takes a noble person to plant a seed and grow a tree that will one day provide shade to those whom one may never meet.” Dr. D. Elton Trueblooda

Endowment

To leave the world a better place than it was when you were born means to make choices. Planned Giving is a thoughtful way to play an important part in the long term success and growth of Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health System, and to help ensure that its mission will continue to grow for generations to come.

CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Foundation has established The Legacy Society to recognize and thank those who have followed the example of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, and their devotion to the future of the health of our Northeast Texas community. Legacy Society members have made a commitment to the community’s future, either with an endowment gift during their lifetime, or through their estate planning. We are grateful for their foresight, dedication and philanthropic spirit. These gifts will impact future generations in a profound and meaningful way.

You may become a member of The Legacy Society by including CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances in your plans. Planned giving does not require a large income or vast estate. Planned giving only requires a thoughtful intention to make a difference in your community by identifying CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances in your estate plan.

Charitable Gift Annuities

In exchange for an outright gift, CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances, or a designated trustee, agrees by contract, to pay a fixed amount each year to you.

Gifts of Endowment

An endowment fund is a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding. Endowment assets are invested. Each year, a portion of the value of the fund is paid out to support the fund’s purpose, and any earnings in excess of this distribution are used to build the fund’s market value. In this way, an endowment fund can grow and provide support for its designated purpose in perpetuity.

Appreciated Assets

A contribution of long-term appreciated assets – e.g., stocks, bonds, and/or mutual funds that have realized significant appreciation over time – is a very tax-efficient way to give.

Bequests and Wills

Giving through your estate is an easy way to make a legacy gift. Through a provision in your will or living trust, you can transfer cash, securities or other property.

Life Insurance Policies

By making CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Foundation the beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy, you will receive a charitable tax receipt for your annual premiums or your estate will receive a larger charitable tax receipt for the total amount of your insurance benefits.

“Supporting CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System has always been important to me. Leaving behind a legacy gift, a Charitable Gift Annuity, as part of my estate planning allowed me to make an even greater impact for the hospital and doctors I love. It also provided me with a very good income stream of financial support for my later years.” Martha, Foundation Donor
