TMFHC SEEKING VOTES FOR “WOMEN WITH HEART” IN FOUR EAST TEXAS COUNTIES
TYLER, TX - According to statistics from the American Heart Association, heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases cause approximately half of all deaths in American women and one out of three women over age 65 has some form of heart disease. No longer is it considered a disease suffered only by men.
In recognition of February as National Heart Month, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics and CBS 19 will present ‘Women With Heart’ awards. The award highlights and honors a total of eight women - two from Cherokee, Smith, Wood, and Henderson County - who are battling, or have battled and conquered, cardiac disease with the help of Trinity Mother Frances Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital and exude a spirit that has inspired others.
TMFHC and CBS 19 have received nominations and are now calling for community votes throughout the month of December. The women will be honored during a special evening of food, fellowship, and learning in their respective county in February. The dinner is free and open to the public; it will educate attendees about the risks for heart disease.
Please visit www.tmfheart.org or www.cbs19.tv, or one of our Facebook pages, to learn more about the event and vote the ‘Women With Heart’ in your life today. Voting will continue December 9 – 31.
