CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic - Pulmonology Improves Patient Access with Newly Expanded Facility

TYLER, TX – CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic - Pulmonology is improving patient access and convenience with a newly relocated and expanded facility within the CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances - Medical Arts Plaza, located at 619 S. Fleishel, in Tyler.

The Pulmonology department is moving from the fifth floor of the CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital - Tyler to its new location on the ground floor to bring patients a host of advantages and improvements to their already award-winning care. They will begin seeing patients on Monday, July 24

“This larger clinic space will allow us to provide our patients with a more comfortable and convenient area to receive treatment,” said Nicole Smith, Manager, CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic - Pulmonology. “This transition will also allow us to double our capacity for Bronchitis Lab Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) machines and to move them into the same area as the clinic, making treatments more convenient for our patients. Additionally, having the ability to relocate the clinic to the first floor is a simple and practical benefit for our patients – many of whom have trouble breathing.”

The new Pulmonology clinic is expanded to more than 6,500 square feet, while more than doubling the included area for housing physicians and advanced practice providers.

“From a treatment standpoint, this move and expansion is very exciting for the patients, as well as the providers,” said Julie Vallery Philley, M.D., Lead Physician for Pulmonology at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System. “Regardless of patients’ conditions or the frequency and levels of care they require, improving their ability to access that care is crucial. This development and growth is a fantastic step for Pulmonology patients in Northeast Texas.”

“From obstructive diseases like chronic bronchitis and asthma, to treatment of more advanced conditions that may require surgery, lung care is hugely important to patients in Northeast Texas where rates of pulmonary illness are high,” said James Caccitolo, M.D., Medical Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System. “We are excited to expand our capabilities in treating these patients and helping them to better get the care they need.”

“At CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System, we are continually seeking ways to improve our facilities, our level of care and the experience we provide for our patients. The providers, nurses and staff of our Pulmonology team has received numerous awards and recognitions for the outstanding level of care and service they provide to our patients, and this development is a blessing for the people of Northeast Texas who require pulmonary care.” said Deb Chelette, RN, BSN, MHA, Associate Vice President, CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital - Tyler and Cardiovascular Services, CHRISTUS Health Northeast, which includes CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System, CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System and CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System.
