Nationally Known Speaker, Medical Expert To Address East Texas Medical Professionals June 30

TYLER, TX – Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics will launch the iCARE. initiative by presenting nationally known speaker and patient advocate Ridley Barron on June 30, at the Green Acres Baptist Church Crosswalk Center.

The term “iCARE.”, refers to TMFHC-led movement throughout the medical community dedicated to transforming the patient experience in East Texas. “With this event we are stepping out to tell the public about an initiative that is energizing the great people that walk through the doors of our institution,” said Ray Thompson, FACHE, Chief Operating Officer, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. “This event tonight is our public statement that we will lead a change in how healthcare is delivered. Starting with our own culture, we are deliberately hardwiring a system of engaged accountability that will lead to exceptional patient experiences. That mission sits at the heart of everyone who chose healthcare as a profession, and we are delighted to lead that charge here in East Texas through the iCARE. program.”

Mr. Barron will offer the moving and renowned presentation, “Every ½ Second Counts,” to all physicians and advanced practices providers in order to demonstrate a real-life example of the humanity and personal connection present in every interaction. The presentation serves as a reminder to the medical community of the individual nature of service and dedication inherent in the medical field, and is aimed squarely at relinking day-to-day work of healthcare with the motivations that first led these men and women to answer their calling to become healthcare providers.

“Mr. Barron is a former senior pastor, author, nationally known speaker and tireless advocate for patient safety who presents on topics such as patient safety, quality of care, survivor guilt, sentinel events and the second victim in hospital errors,” said Scott Smith, MD, Senior Vice President, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. “Mr. Barron’s heart wrenching story will reconnect every provider and medical professional to the ‘why’ of our vocation.”

The event is open to all physicians and advanced practice providers from within the Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics system, as well as independent and partner physicians from across East Texas. The presentation will be accompanied by dinner and is officially licensed for ethics continuing education credits (CME).

“We brought Mr. Barron and his message to East Texas in order to bear the standard for efficient, excellent and compassionate care in our area, across every field of medicine,” said Steven Keuer, MD, President of Trinity Clinic and Chief Medical Officer of Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. “With this event, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics seeks to offer to our colleagues in the medical community an experience that goes beyond simply sharing knowledge and gets to the root of our collective mission as healthcare providers: to meet the needs of our community with the highest quality services possible.”

1.0 hour CME Ethics credit available for Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers attending and completing an evaluation. Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics designates this live educational activity for a maximum of one (1) AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
