Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics utilizes a decentralized approach to quality improvement. Both administrative and physician leaders are held accountable for achieving annual System quality goals and individual department goals are established each year. Quality and Safety comprise a significant part of each manager’s evaluation.
Managers use the Plan, Do, Check, Act methodology and LEAN to resolve problems. Over 25 Trinity Mother Frances managers and staff received training at the prestigious Intermountain Healthcare Advanced Training Program for Healthcare Quality. These leaders returned to share this knowledge of quality improvement techniques and processes. Upper management received training on Toyota’s LEAN theory, a quicker approach to Six Sigma results. Our basic philosophy is one of a data-driven organization relying on interdisciplinary teams to identify and solve problems.
