TRINITY MOTHER FRANCES-LINDALE TO OPEN MONDAY

LINDALE, TX - Today, officials with Trinity Mother Frances Health System gave local dignitaries and the media a sneak preview of the new $6 million Trinity Mother Frances-Lindale health care facility, located north of Interstate 20 on the west side of Highway 69. The medical complex will be open to patients beginning Monday.

In addition to physician offices, the facility will offer extended hours, a workout facility staffed with fitness experts from Premier Fitness, a pool, breast screening and diagnostic testing through The Ross Breast Center, and extensive laboratory and X-ray capabilities.

"Trinity Mother Frances Health System has been a member of the Lindale community for many years. This medical complex is the newest in our System and is extremely well designed and functional for the patient and the physician," said David K. Teegarden, MD, President and Chief Medical Officer, Trinity Mother Frances Health System. "This project is part of our long-term commitment to better serve the people who live in Lindale and northern Smith County."

The Health System currently operates Trinity Clinic-Lindale, located on FM 849. The clinic will relocate to the new facility on Monday.

"It has been evident for many years that Lindale is one of the fastest-growing communities in the region and Trinity Mother Frances-Lindale is now here to serve the ever-expanding health care needs of the citizens of this community and northern Smith County," said Lindsey Bradley, FACHE, President and Chief Administrative Officer, Trinity Mother Frances Health System. "The location is extremely convenient for everyone and we have enough property should future expansion be necessary."

Additional space was added to accommodate new physicians, including Roger Fowler, MD, a Trinity Clinic physician who is relocating his practice from Kilgore, and Melita Brooks, MD, a native of Lindale who is returning home to practice medicine.

Dr. Fowler commented, "What a great opportunity to practice medicine in a flagship facility for the Trinity Clinic and Trinity Mother Frances Health System! I am looking forward to adding to and enhancing the quality practice of medicine in the growing region that Lindale, Texas anchors. I want to know the people and businesses of Lindale, just as I knew Kilgore before I came here. I am grateful for the privilege to add to the value of this facility and wonderful community."

"Growing up, being a kid, I always dreamed of moving out of town and getting into a city, but I also thought that it would be really nice, to be kind of the hometown doc someday," said Dr. Brooks. "After I got out of town and did my medical school, training, residency and got married, my husband wanted to live in the country, and we moved back to Lindale where I felt at home. We adopted a couple of children and Lindale is a great place to raise your children. I'm excited to serve the town that I grew up in."

Drs. Fowler and Brooks join Eleazar Vera, MD, who has treated Lindale-area patients at Trinity Clinic-Lindale for many years.
"This is very exciting for us," said Dr. Vera. We have dreamed of this for a long time. The additional space, equipment and convenience for the patients and their families are going to be wonderful."

"Quality of care for our patients is one of our top priorities as a System. This new state-of-the-art facility is an outstanding example of our commitment to quality for the residents of Lindale and the surrounding area. With our DirectCARE offering extended hours, our Trinity Clinic offering primary medical care, and our Fitness Center providing exercise fitness and rehab, we can treat and work with not only the patients, but the community as a whole", said Steven Keuer, MD, executive vice president, Trinity Mother Frances Health System.

In May, officials with Trinity Mother Frances Health System and Premier Fitness announced a partnership that expands wellness facilities and fitness expertise from Tyler to Lindale. Trinity Mother Frances Fitness Center, affiliated with Premier Fitness and located inside the new Trinity Mother Frances-Lindale, is now accepting new memberships from the public. Trinity Mother Frances
Fitness Center-Lindale includes a pool and some of the most sophisticated workout equipment available.

Since 2004, Trinity Clinic orthopedic and sports medicine physicians have worked with professionals at Premier Fitness, located behind Lowe's on Donnybrook Avenue in Tyler, to assess the personal, nutritional and fitness goals of patients and the public.

"Health and fitness go hand-in-hand," said Ray Thompson, FACHE, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Trinity Mother Frances Health System. "Trinity Mother Frances Health System and Premier Fitness are the best partners you will find on your journey to health and fitness. Our Trinity Clinic physicians can help you overcome conditions that might be slowing you down, while the experts from Premier Fitness can help you implement an exercise regimen for your recovery. The cardio workout equipment at the Lindale Fitness Center is state-of-the-art equipped with personal flat screen TV's and the capability of listening to radio as well. The treadmills are also leading edge, incorporating aromatherapy and the center has the only Kinesis wall in Texas; one of twenty in the nation."

"Trinity Mother Frances Health System and Premier Fitness are both faith-based institutions," said Cune Pena, who co-owns Premier Fitness with wife Michelle. "We share many beliefs, including that a consistent program of the right diet and the right fitness program leads to good health and long life. Together, we will provide a well-rounded health and fitness regimen that will enhance health and make life more fun. Because with us, it's not just a workout, it's a lifestyle."

Personal trainers are available at Premier Fitness in Tyler and will be available through Trinity Mother Frances Fitness Center - Lindale. A personal trainer's role in an exercise program is to motivate, keep the exerciser on track and make sure workouts are safe, enjoyable and effective. Personal trainers provide a wide variety of services including nutritional guidance, fitness assessment, lifestyle management advice and weight control programs.

Trinity Mother Frances Health System has constructed a number of new health care facilities in the last five years, including a new hospital in Jacksonville, a medical clinic in Athens, and the Joseph Z. and Louise H. Ornelas Tower at Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler. Trinity Clinic merged with Medical Arts Clinic of Corsicana in July and broke ground last month on a new multi-physician facility on Interstate 20 in Canton that should be completed, weather permitting, in 12 to 16 months.

Trinity Clinic is the area's preferred multispecialty medical group, with over 250 physicians and mid-level providers representing 37 specialties in 34 clinic locations serving east Texas.
