TRINITY MOTHER FRANCES HEALTH SYSTEM TO OPEN NEW CANTON FACILITY
CANTON, TX - Today, officials with Trinity Mother Frances Health System held a leaders' breakfast and media sneak preview of the System's newest regional health care facility in Canton. Trinity Mother Frances Health System-Canton, a 25,000 square foot complex that took 13 months to complete, is located at the corner of FM 859 and I-20. A public open house will be held November 19 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and the medical complex will open for patient care on November 20 at 8 a.m.
Trinity Mother Frances Health System-Canton includes space for five clinicians. Services will include convenient hours, a DirectCARE clinic that accepts walk-in patients, a therapy pool, fitness facilities associated with Premier Fitness, laboratory, X-ray, diagnostic radiology, cardiac stress testing, mobile MRI and mammography, and rehabilitation services. The Ross Breast Center will open in 2007.
"The people of Canton and Van Zandt County have accessed primary health care at Trinity Mother Frances Health System-Canton for many years. The new Canton location allows us to enhance and expand staff and services for the community," said David K. Teegarden, MD, president and chief medical officer, Trinity Mother Frances Health System. "Trinity Mother Frances Health System-Canton will bring care to the region that many used to have to travel to Tyler for in the past. This is an exciting time for everyone."
"Being a member of this community, I am just as enthusiastic about the new facility as everyone else," said Kenneth Nixon, MD, family medicine, Trinity Mother Frances Health System-Canton. "Our previous location has served our needs, but it was time to build a new facility. Trinity Mother Frances Health System-Canton will provide far more space and patient comforts than we have been able to offer. Anyone visiting our new I-20 complex will be very pleased with the additional services and amenities."
"Thanks to the commitment of community leaders, including the mayor, city council, Canton Economic Development Corporation and Mr. Henry Lewis, this new building is now a reality" said John Webb, vice president, strategic business development, Trinity Mother Frances Health System. "We have a great history together with the people of Canton. We brought ambulance service in the fall of 1986 and opened a clinic in 1988. The long-term partnerships we have shared in the past will grow even more with the opening of the new medical facility."
Trinity Mother Frances Health System has constructed a number of new health care facilities in the last five years, including a new hospital in Jacksonville, a medical clinic in Athens, the Joseph Z. and Louise H. Ornelas Tower at Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler, and new Trinity Clinics in Lindale and Hawkins/Holly Lake Ranch.
Trinity Clinic is the area's preferred multispecialty medical group, with over 250 physicians and mid-level providers representing 37 specialties in 34 clinic locations serving east Texas.
