TMFHS TEAMS UP WITH OR LIVE FOR FIRST-EVER WEB BROADCAST OF STEREOTAXIS PROCEDURE
TYLER,TX- On Thursday, March 30, 2006, Trinity Mother Frances Heart Institute will host, along with OR Live, the first live Web broadcast of the Magnetic-Assisted Electrophysiology Mapping and Ablation procedure in the Heart Institute's Stereotaxis cardiac catheterization lab. The broadcast will feature the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia, the world's most common heart rhythm disorder, using the 3-D Navistar RMT Diagnostic and Ablation Catheter.
The Trinity Mother Frances Heart Institute is one of only eight U.S. sites to use the 3-D Navistar RMT Diagnostic and Ablation Catheter to treat cardiac arrhythmia.
With this new technology combination, physicians have precise and efficient control of the catheter tip with constant feedback as to the exact location of the catheter. This innovation offers physicians leading diagnostic, ablation, mapping, and steering technologies resulting in an ability to treat a broad range of routine or complex cardiac cases.
The catheter was co-developed by Stereotaxis and Biosense Webster and recently received FDA approval for use with the Stereotaxis Niobe® Magnetic Navigation System.
Peter Cheung, MD and Stan Weiner, MD, electrophysiologists with Tyler Cardiovascular Consultants, will be presiding over the procedure during the Webcast. Drs. Cheung and Weiner and the Trinity Mother Frances Heart Institute are at the forefront of this world-class technology.
To view the Webcast on March 30 at 6 p.m. Central Time, visit www.orlive.com. For more information on the Trinity Mother Frances Heart Institute, visit www.casattexas.org. Trinity Mother Frances Health System is comprised of Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler, Mother Frances Hospital-Jacksonville, and Trinity Clinic.
