MOTHER FRANCES HOSPITAL-JACKSONVILLE UNVEILS EXPANSION PROJECT

JACKSONVILLE, TX – Today, officials Trinity Mother Frances Health System gave the media a sneak preview of the new $3.5 million, 10,955 square-foot expansion project at Mother Frances Hospital-Jacksonville. The addition includes 15 new private patient rooms and added space for food service, physical therapy and laboratory services.

This marks the second major expansion at the Hospital since it opened in February 2001. A state-of-the-art Heart Center and Women’s Center opened in June of 2003. The Heart Center includes some of the world’s most advanced cardiac diagnostic technology, with the Women’s Center featuring additional women’s services such as on-site mammography.

“Since the day we opened, we have experienced an increase in demand for services from patients throughout the four-county area. As a result, we have been in an almost continuous state of expansion,” said Tom Cammack, chief administrative officer, Mother Frances Hospital-Jacksonville. “Patients in Cherokee, Anderson, Rusk and Smith counties want advanced treatments available close to home. Since the original grand opening, we have added a CT scanner, a nuclear medicine camera and expanded our radiology services. Now, with the addition of 15 private patient rooms, it brings the total number of private rooms to 25.”

System officials said the 15 additional patient rooms comprise 9,832 square feet of the project. The food service area has been expanded by 439 square feet to better serve patient’s dietary needs. Existing physical therapy and laboratory areas have been expanded a total of 664 square feet. Additional space was added in this project to provide for an intensive care unit to be opened in the future.
